Description:
Welcome to the Best Western Twin Peaks located in the "Switzerland of America". We are located within the City of Ouray one block west of the famous Million-Dollar Highway and just footsteps from the mountains and activities. See why National Geographic named Ouray one of the Ten Most Beautiful Places in America.
From our doorstep you can access hundreds of miles of jeeping and hiking trails, mountain streams to pan for gold, or a nearby lake, to catch that one that got away. You could take a trip into the high country to an 1800's ghost town, ride a horse on a wilderness trail, or just relax in the warm sunshine by the pool.
The weather in Ouray is normally mild during the day and cool in the evening. Ouray is a friendly, family town that shows its old west heritage. On the street, you are as likely to meet a resident deer, as a fellow guest. This is a place as far from the maddening world as you can get without a passport.
The Best Western Twin Peaks is a family run business where you never stay a stranger for long. We have a tradition of past guests returning each year to enjoy Ouray, the area and our unique property. We take great pride in our spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms with beautiful grounds, flower gardens and the natural beauty that surrounds our property.
If you have never been here before you will find a place that you'll never forget. You will know why it has been called the "Gem of the Rockies" and "Our Secret Place".
Throughout the summer there are activities to keep families of all ages busy all day. Whether you tour our museum, take a hike, climb to a waterfall, go on a jeep tour to the high country, ride a horse, mountain bike, experience the mine tour, or just want to relax and take life easy its all right here.
The Best Western Twin Peaks lobby has a friendly atmosphere with a lodge type setting, a large fireplace, sofas and current magazines. We always have a fresh pot of hot coffee, tea and cappuccino. We have lots of books that tell about the history of the area. You can also purchase trail and hiking maps, postcards, stamps, snacks and soft drinks.
We have a natural hot springs on our property. This is water that flows from the ground naturally heated to 156??. This soothing hot water is cooled and continuously supplied to the indoor and outdoor hot tubs. This therapeutic water is said to have healing powers, but at minimum provides a relaxing, refreshing feeling. These pools can be enjoyed in any weather, free and available only to our guests.
Although we do not allow pets, we do provide a resident dog and cat that enjoy hugs and kisses from all of you who miss your own pets. Let us know if we can do something special for you to make your vacation or trip to Ouray extra special.
The Best Western Twin Peaks is a seasonal property that is open each year from mid-April through October.
