Description:  Sharing 1,839 acres of oceanfront paradise with the legendary Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is nestled into the bluffs above the white sands of Hapuna Beach - rated one of the best beaches in America by Conde Naste Traveler. A predominant feature of The Hapuna Beach Prince site is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface creating natural artesian fountains. The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named "Hapuna" or "Spring of Life" in the Hawaiian language. There is so much to see and experience at the Hapuna Beach Hotel. You can be busy from morning to night, or if you choose you can relax and soak in the rays on the long white sand beach. The Hapuna Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course nestled in the dramatic natural countours of the land from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. The course offers spectacular views of the Kohala coast and the Pacific Ocean while majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kohala Mountains form the backdrop. In addition, guests may also elect to play at the world famous Mauna Kea Golf course, rated one of the best courses in the state. Location:  Located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. The 1800 acre Mauna Kea Resort offers guests the use of the facilities of two first class hotels, the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, and the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel; two of the worlds finest beaches, and two of the states best golf courses. The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is located on the beach - rated the "Number one beach in America" by conde Nast Traveler, Hapuna Beach is a long stretch of pristine white sand. There is a little cove nearby where the waters are sheltered and clear. On any given day, giant sea turtles may drop in for a visit. Otherwise, it's the perfect place for swimmers and snorkelers to explore at their leisure. Adjacent to Hapuna, in front of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is Kauna'oa Bay considered by many to be the island's single most picturesque beach. Crescent-shaped with pure white sands and shimmering aqua waters, it is perfect for water sports including swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, catamaran riding, whale watching and deep-sea fishing. Even at night, guests step onto a circular lava outcropping overlooking the bay, to watch the manta rays swim beneath.

Coast Grille - The hotel's signature restaurant features an Oyster Bar and the freshest Pacific Rim cuisine in an indoor or outdoor setting. A specialty is New England Lobster, raised in cold pure deep-ocean waters at an aquaculture facility just down the road.
