In November, 1998 the new Hotel Monaco opened in downtown Chicago. Located at the corner of Wacker and Wabash, overlooking the Chicago River and steps from the city's North Michigan Avenue shopping district and its bustling Loop financial district, the 192 room Hotel Monaco is an oasis of stylish elegance and comfort.

Acclaimed interior designer Cheryl Rowley is responsible for the unique style. Rowley draws inspiration from the French Deco period of the 1920's and 1930's and infuses her eclectic touches to produce the sophisticated and urbane Hotel Monaco Chicago. The hotel's living room is visually stunning with its painted woodwork in "string of pearl" detail, plush furnishings of damask and velvet, and color palate of light gold, cream, coral red, copper and rich chocolate brown.

The Hotel Monaco caters to the most distinguishing guest accustomed to luxurious accommodations whether a business or leisure traveler. Special services and amenities include full concierge, business services, on-site fitness room, 24-hour room service, valet parking, complimentary morning coffee service and evening wine reception in the living room, and Mossant, a French bistro restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The 192 guest rooms and suites of Hotel Monaco Chicago envelop a traveler in sheer comfort.

The rooms are wrapped in six-inch vertical striped wall covering in pistachio green and butter crème yellow, with a lipstick red, quilted headboard to accent the yellow, copper, lipstick red and green bedspread. Rich mahogany furnishings, including a writing desk, armoire, and dressing mirror are complemented by other whimsical touches.

The Hotel Monaco Chicago offers full function and catering facilities. All function rooms are located on the hotel's 3rd floor and total over 4100 square feet.

• The Paris Room is a 2700 square foot rectangle with no pillars and a 900 square foot pre-function area.
• The Athens Rooms is a 960 square foot rectangle with one full wall of windows.
• The Tokyo Boardroom seats 12 around a rich mahogany table and plush leather chairs.

The hotel has a fitness room equipped with treadmills, stationary bike, elliptical machine and free weights. A more extensive facility is available just 3 blocks from the hotel and special guest passes may be acquired from the hotel's front desk.

Mossant restaurant is vibrant and lively with a separate lounge area, open air kitchen and outstanding French cuisine. Mossant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
