Historic Sites:
- 4 miles from Lincoln Statue, a statue of 23-year old Abraham Lincoln, as a volunteer soldier serving in the Blackhawk Indian War of 1832. Located between the bridges in Dixon.
- 4 miles from Historic Dixon Theatre, considered one of the most beautiful theatres between Chicago and Des Moines. Reagan premiered International Squadron here. Volunteers continue to renovate this wonderful facility.
- 4 miles from Old Settlers Log Cabin. This is a reconstructed, completely furnished pioneer log cabin. Originally built in 1894.
- 5 miles from Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home, wander the renovated and refurbished boyhood home of the former president. Learn about his boyhood and teen years spent in the area. Be sure to stop and browse the Visitor Center located next door. President Bush recently designated the Reagan Boyhood Home as a National Historic Site.
- 5 miles from Dixon Historic Center, former President Reagan and his brother Neil attended classes here when it served as South Central School. Restoration of the school is in progress. It will house a national archives research and study center.
- 5 miles from Reagan Way, a historic walk through the boyhood of a president. This nine block area of Hennipen Avenue starts at the boyhood home of President Reagan and includes the Historic Center, Dixon Library where Reagan spent many hours reading and the First Christian Church where he was baptized and was an active member.
- 5 miles from Nachusa House, now a senior apartment building, this once housed one of the oldest hotels in the country and played host to Abraham Lincoln, U.S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft and Southern Confederate President Jefferson Davis.
- 5 miles from Wings of Peace and Freedom. This sculpture was donated to the City of Dixon by an immigrant from Bulgaria to recognize President Reagan's efforts to obtain peace and freedom for all of the people of the world. A full-size replica of the Berlin Wall is also located at this site.
- 5 miles from Loveland Museum. Reagan photos, Civil War weapons, fossils and pioneer tools are among the items you'll see while touring this interesting museum. Want to be interactive? Try the antiques vacuums, washing machine or listen to the 1900 phonograph.
- 10 miles from John Deere Historic Site. In 1837, John Deere hammered out the first successful self-scouring steel plow at this location. Visitors can see the restored John Deere home and view the archaeological display of his original shop complete with practicing blacksmith. A dramatic slide show enhances the experience.
- 10 miles from Dillon Home Museum. This Italian Renaissance period home was built in 1858 and is listed on the National Register of Historic places. It features antiques from the Dillon family who built the former Northwestern Steel.
- 15 miles from H.I. Lincoln Building. This unique building was constructed in 1860 in Franklin Grove. It now houses the National Headquarters for the Lincoln Highway, the first intercontinental Highway.
- 20 miles from Black Hawk Statue. This 48-foot statue over looking the beautiful Rock River outside of Oregon was designed by artist Lorado Taft as a character study of the American Indian.

The Michael Jordan statue that stands in front of the United Center was cast here.
- 20 miles from Slip and Slurry Pottery Studio. Resident potter Reed Bakken has created the highest quality stoneware and porcelain. A must see for an interesting adventure.
- 40 miles from Timber Lake Playhouse, Illinois's oldest continuously running professional summer stock theatre. Performances June through August. Groups welcome.

Train Enthusiasts:
Lots of area attractions are nearby for those interested in trains present and past:
- 10 miles from NR Model Train Museum, model trains in operation and featuring the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad in West Virginia in the 1950's in HO scale.
- 17 miles from Amboy Depot, built in 1876 and on the National Register of Historic places, features a steam locomotive from Northwestern Steel.
- 25 miles from Rochelle Railroad Park. If you like train watching this is the place. Over 80 trains pass here daily and can be viewed from the platform specially constructed for train watching and photographing.
- 40 miles from Savanna Train Project. This railroad passenger car is one of only 16 still in existence and now houses artifacts from railroading in the area.

- 2 miles from Autumn on Parade, the first Saturday in October fills Oregon, Illinois with fun and adventure. Arts, crafts, books and just about everything else can be found for sale here. Add lots of food, games and a parade and you have a weekend to remember!
- 3 miles from Dixon Petunia Festival, held in conjunction with the 4th of July, this 6 day celebration offers a carnival, dances, parade, taste of Sauk and many other attractions. Of course everything is capped off with a spectacular fireworks display.
- 3 miles from County Lee Irishfest. This celebration takes place mid-March each year and celerates the Irish in all of us. Live music, dancing, parade, contests and the traditional corned beef and cabbage.
- 3 miles from Reagan Trail Days, come help us celebrate the life of Ronald Reagan on the 3rd Saturday of August. Trolley car rides to all of the Reagan sites, pontoon boat rides on the Rock River, Reagan movies at the Historic Dixon Theatre, food tent hosted by the American Legion and Jelly Belly contests for everyone.
- 15 miles from Franklin Grove Summer Harvest Festival, the 1st weekend in August each year hosts this festival. Go back to a time when life was simple. Daft horse jamboree, threshing fair, encampments, historical tours, demonstrations, parade, slow tractor contest and street dance are all a part of this incredible festival.
- 20 miles from Amboy Depot Days, held the weekend prior to Labor Day weekend; this is a celebration of Amboy's railroad heritage. Events include a car show, pancake breakfast, pork chop dinner, tractor show, tug of war, carnival and parade.
- 25 miles from Sublette's Annual Toy and Antique Tractor Show, the 3rd Sunday in March finds people from all over the Midwest converging on this tiny town to view exhibits of cast iron, plastic and metal toys. An antique tractor show and pancake breakfast add to the fun.
