Description:  Wheatleigh is the perfect marriage of the grandeur of a 16th century Florentine palazzo with the elegance and comfort of the 21st century. Set on 22 acres overlooking the Berkshire mountains and lake, Wheatleigh is two and a half hours by car from New York and Boston, with easy access by private plane. Built in 1893, Wheatleigh has just completed a four-year, multi-million dollar renovation to create the most unique luxurious small hotel in the world. Guest Accommodations:  From the original bedrooms of the Count and Countess to the aviary converted into a two story suite and made famous by Leonard Bernstein, each of the nineteen guest rooms is unique and individually decorated. The sensibility of contemporary design is combined with well chosen English and French antiques to enhance Wheatleigh's classical Renaissance architecture. Most rooms are large with high ceilings and are filled with light. Many have fireplaces, balconies and wonderful views of the mountains and lake, the sculpture garden or the front courtyard. All have private baths, and, in a bow to the demands of 20th century comfort, are equipped with telephones and individually controlled heat and air conditioning.

Directions from West Side of Manhattan:  Take West Side Drive (which becomes the Henry Hudson Pkwy) to the Saw Mill River Pkwy, exiting at the Taconic State Pkwy. (See directions from Taconic Pkwy).
Directions from East Side of Manhattan:  Take FDR Drive north to the Deegan Expressway. Follow signs for "Upstate", Rte 87N, New York Thruway. Take Exit 7A, and follow signs for Taconic Pkwy. (See directions from Taconic Pkwy).
Directions from Queens and Long Island:  After the Tribero Bridge and toll booth, stay to the left and follow signs to the Deegan Expressway. Follow signs for "Upstate", Rte 87N, New York Thruway. Take Exit 7A on 87N, and follow signs for Taconic Pkwy. (See directions from Taconic Pkwy).
Directions from Taconic Parkway:  Stay on the Taconic Parkway until the Route 23, Hillsdale exit. Continue on 23 East to Great Barrington, where routes 23 & 7 intersect. At this point turn left onto 7 north, continuing on Rte 7 for approximately 7 miles. At Stockbridge Center, where Routes 7 and 102 intersect, go straight across the intersection, onto Pine Street. In .2 miles you will come to a fork in the road, bear left onto Prospect Hill Road. Continue for 5 miles to Wheatleigh's entrance on the right.
Directions from New Jersey:  Take the New York Thruway to the Berkshire Spur exit (21A) then take Exit B3 (Route 22). Follow signs to Route 102. Take 102 East through West Stockbridge to Route 183. Turn left on 183 north, go about 4 miles to Hawthorne Road (before Tangelwood Main Gate). Turn right onto Hawthorne Road, continuing for approximately one mile, where Wheatleigh's entrance is on the left.
Directions from Boston:  Take Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit 2, Lee. Take Rte 20 West through the town of Lee, into Lenox. At the intersection of Rte 183 and 7, take a left onto 183 South, Walker Street. After 2.7 miles, you will pass Tanglewood's Main Gate, within .2 miles the road forks. Take the left fork, which is a continuation of 183 South. In .1 miles you will see a road on your left, Hawthorne Road. Go 1 mile down the road to Wheatleigh's entrance on the left.
