Mackinac Island (West Bluffs)
Bicyclists enjoy a leisurely ride through Mackinac Island's west bluffs. The panoramic view of the Straits of Mackinac and the many luxurious summer mansions make this ride one of the Island's best.
Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse
The Mackinaw Area has one of the world's largest concentrations of Lighthouses. In all, a total of 18 lighthouses stand within 20 miles of Mackinaw City. The old Mackinac Point Lighthouse sits at the foot of the Mackinac Bridge in Macinac City. The lighthouse was built in 1893 and served the dangerous waters of the Straits of Mackinac until 1957. It is currently undergoing a restoration and will be re-opened to the public very soon. Mackinaw City offers several lighthouse activities and tours throughout the year, including Lighthouse cruises on Lake Michigan and Huron as well as land based Lighthouse trolley tours.
