Biloxi Visitor Center & Historical Walking Tour:
710 Beach Blvd. Biloxi, MS. 228-374-3105 or 800-245-6943 Hours of Operation: Open daily April - October Closed Sundays November - March A self-guided walking tour takes visitors to more than 20 historical buildings, ranging from Greek Revival to French Colonial designs. The tour begins at the Biloxi Visitors Center, which is located in the Brielmaier House, a Victorian home listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The center has information on local attractions, events and more.

Biloxi Lighthouse:
Porter Avenue @ Hwy. 90 Biloxi, MS. 228-445-6244 Hours of Operation: Call for information on tours. This 65-foot tall, cast-iron lighthouse was built in 1848. It is the only lighthouse in the U.S. that stands in the middle of a four-lane highway.

Buccaneer State Park:

The Friendship Oak:
730 Beach Boulevard, Hwy. 90 Long Beach, MS 228-865-4500 Located on the University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Park campus, the oak has a truck 17 feet in circumference, limbs 7 1/2 feet in circumference, and a foliage spread of 151 feet. A plaque, dating the tree to 1487, reads: "I am the Friendship Oak. Those who enter my shadow are supposed to remain friends through their lifetime no matter where fate may take them in after years."

Gulf Islands National Seashore:
3500 Park Road Ocean Springs, MS 228-875-9057 The Gulf Islands National Seashore was established by Congress in 1971 to provide recreation for visitors and to protect the wildlife, barrier islands, salt marshes, historic structures and archeological sites along the Gulf of Mexico. It includes 11 separate units stretching eastward 150 miles from West Ship Island, Mississippi, to the eastern tip of Santa Rosa Island, Florida. The islands in the Mississippi district are about 10 miles offshore and can be reached only by boat. Excursion boat trips from Gulfport to West Ship Island are offered during the spring, summer and fall. The Gulf Islands National Seashore Visitors Center in Ocean Springs offers audiovisual programs, exhibits and information on nature trails, camping, marsh tours, islands, beaches and historic forts.

The 26-mile stretch of white sand beach which plays an integral part in the resort activities of the area is the world's longest and largest man-made beach.

Mardi Gras Museum:
119 Rue Magnolia Biloxi, MS 228-435-6245 Hours of Operation: Monday - Saturday 11 AM - 4 PM The Mardi Gras Museum features colorful costumes, memorabilia and a history of Mardi Gras in Biloxi since the arrival of the French in 1699. The museum is housed in the 1847 Magnolia Hotel, the only pre-Civil War hotel left standing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Marine Life Oceanarium:

Beauvoir - The Jefferson Davis Home & Presidential Library:
710 Beach Blvd. Biloxi, MS 228-388-1313 or 228-388-9074 Hours of Operation: Open March - August 9 AM - 5 PM September - February 9 AM - 4 PM This seaside estate (circa 1848-1852) contains the restored home of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, the new Jefferson Davis Presidential Library, a Confederate Museum, a historic cemetery, landscaped gardens and nature trails. The 51-acre site is a National Historic Landmark.
