The seven acre zoo is home to over 300 mammals and birds from around the world. Visitors stroll through an array of native and exotic wildlife displays that feature majestic lions, colorful birds, endangered wolves, and monkeys. Feed the ducks, geese, and swans at the waterfowl exhibit.

This state park is the site of an early American Apache Stronghold. There are 50 campsites. Within Oliver Lee Memorial State Park is the restored Dog Canyon Ranch House of Oliver Lee, early pioneer of the cattle era.

The Space Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico features the International Space Hall of Fame (Winter: 9AM-5PM daily; Summer: 9AM-6PM daily), the Tombaugh Omnimax Space Theater and Planetarium, Astronaut Memorial Garden, Air & Space Park and a Shuttle Camp. Step inside Space Station 2001 and try your hands at the controls; learn how an RL-10 rocket engine works, or imagine yourself cruising the surface of the moon in the lunar rover.
