  • Bandelier National Monument, nestled in the wooded canyons of the Jemez Mountains, on New Mexico Highway 4, this monument features 12th century Pueblos, cliff dwelling ruins and back country hiking.   • Coronado State Monument, the original Tewa Indian 14th century pueblo, where Francisco Coronado and his men wintered in 1540 & 1541, has been partially reconstructed. This historic site includes a kiva and ladder for visitors to descend. The visitor center provides replicas of Spanish armor you can try on, grinding implements you can try out and Indian drums you can beat for the sound. 505-867-5351
  • El Camino Real De Tierra Adento/Historic Route 66 in Sandoval County, what was the Camino Real in Sandoval County in the 1500's became part of the original Route 66 in New Mexico in the 1900's. Explore the pre-1938 Route 66 from Algodones south on New Mexico 313 through Santa Ana Pueblo, Bernalillo and Sandia Pueblo to 4th Street in Albuquerque.
  • Intel Museum, visitors to the Intel Museum may enjoy a self-guided experience, or participate in prearranged guided tours. For tours of five or more, a prearranged guided tour is required. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday, excluding holidays. Admission is free.   • Jemez Mountain Trail, this historic and scenic by-way begins at the Junction of New Mexico 44 and State Highway 4, in San Ysidro. The trail includes the Jemez Pueblo and Walatowa Visitors Center, Jemez Springs, Jemez National Recreation Area, Jemez State Monument, Gilman Tunnels, Soda Dam, Battleship Rock, Valle Grande and Bandelier National Monument. The historic and scenic by-way also includes Highway 44 from San Ysidro to Cuba and Highway 126, which is unpaved. 505-672-3861.
  • Jemez State Monument, these l5th century pueblo and the mission ruins are located one mile north of Jemez Springs on New Mexico 4. The pueblo and mission were both abandoned in the 1650's. The Visitor Center displays artifacts and historical exhibits with informational and interpretive material uniquely written and presented from the Indian point of view. 505-829-3530
  • Old San Ysidro Church of Corrales, the original old church washed away in 1868 when the Rio Grande flooded, but some of its timbers including a lintel over the main entrance dated 1853, were retrieved from the ruined church. They were placed in a new church, erected on higher ground and once again dedicated to San Ysidro, Patron Saint of Farmers. The old San Ysidro Church, listed on both the National and State registers of historic places, is a classic example of New Mexico Hispanic village religious architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries ... one of the few surviving examples in the area.   • Petroglyph National Monument, this monument was created in 1990 to protect and interpret the 15,000 petroglyphs, images scratched in rock and numerous archaeological sites on the West Mesa. Most of the petroglyphs were created from between 1300 and 1650 A.D. 505-839-4429
