Standard Room:  The Howard Johnson Resort Inn Complex consists of four different buildings containing guest rooms. All guest rooms with the exception of two suites offer accommodations featuring two double beds. Suites:  Suite description: Two executive Suites - (main building) feature King size beds in bedroom. Two Treehouse studios - (lake front) offer two double beds and two double sofa beds, bar, sink, refrigerator, living room area. 1 Efficiency Suite (lake front) features full kitchen, dining room, living room with Queen size sofa bed, bedroom with one double bed, microwave, TV, VCR. Large lake front balcony.
Lakeside Lodge:  Lakeside Lodge - on the shores of Lake Placid, this building offers 4 rooms with two double beds each as well as an efficiency suite with full kitchen. Rooms are done and Adirondack Motif of Notty Pine.
Treehouse Lodge:  Two studio Suites are contained in the Treehouse Lodge. Each with two double beds, and two double sofa beds. Bar, sink, refrigerator. Located on the shores of Lake Placid.

Location:  Lake Placid is located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains surrounded by New York state's highest peaks. Site of two Winter Olympics as well as numerous competitions in summer sports. Lake Placid is a true year round resort, offering mountains, lakes, rivers as well as 1st class dining and shopping.

Directions from Metropolitan New York, New Jersey and Points South:  NYS Thruway (I-87) to Albany (Exit 24) take Adirondack Northway to Exit 30 follow Route 9 North to two miles to Route 73. Left at 1st traffic light in Lake Placid on to Route 86 for 1.5 miles. Howard Johnson Resort will be on your right.
Directions from Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Points Mid-State:  NYS Thruway (I-87) to Syracuse Exit 36. Follow I-81 North to Watertown then East on Route 3 to Saranac Lake, NY. Take Route 86 form Saranac Lake to Lake Placid, Howard Johnson will be on your left.
Directions from Montreal and Points North:  Take the Adirondak Northway (I-87) South to Exit 34. Route 9N to Jay, NY then Route 86 to Lake Placid. Howard Johnson will be 1.5 miles from the first traffic light on Route 86. Right hand side of the road.
Directions from Ottawa and Toronto Areas:  Cross the border in Cornwall, Ontario. Follow Route 37 to Malone, NY. Take Route 30 South to Paul Smiths, NY. Pick up Route 86 to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Howard Johnson will be on your left.

John Brown's Farm / Historical:  Home and burial site of noted Abolitionist who raided the U.S. Arsenal at Harpers Ferry, VA. in an attempt to free the slaves.
Lake Placid Boat Tour / Boat Ride:  One hour boat tour on enclosed boat on Lake Placid. Guide explains history of many of the great camps that are on the lake as well as their famous owners.
Lake Placid Sightseeing / Guided Tour:  Narrated tour in sightseeing vans of Olympic Facilities as well as other areas of interest in and around Lake Placid.
High Falls Gorge / Nature:  Nature trails and gift shops with walk ways overlooking Ausable River and Gorges.
Ausable Chasm / Nature Walk and Raft Ride:  Nature walk along Ausable River and Chasm ending with white water raft ride at conclusion. Raft ride is optional for those who do not wish to do it.
Saranac Inn Golf Club:  Located 30 miles from Lake Placid, this fully irrigated 18 hole golf course is well worth the drive.
