Description:
Cousins Bed & Breakfast, also known as the 'Ward-Adair' Home, dates back to 1855. It is decorated in a victorian manner and is accented with beautiful antiques and reproductions. Fully air conditioned, this meticulously managed B&B has four bedrooms, each with its own private bath and queen-size bed (three high poster and one antique Scottish). Guests are served a full breakfast in the formal dining room or casual sun room by Chef Elmo, the on-premises master of culinary delights. Evening meals can also be prepared if requested in advance. Beaufort is the third oldest town in North Carolina. You only have to walk 2 blocks from Cousins to visit the beautiful waterfront with its restaurants, shops and marina. Sailboats and yachts from all over the world cruise the intracoastal waterway and can be observed tied up at the Beaufort docks or moored in its harbor. The North Carolina Maritime Museum is located on Front Street and is currently home to the artifacts from Blackbeard's flagship, The Queen Anne's revenge. The museum's annex, known as the watercraft center, is located directly across the street from the museum and is dedicated to the preservation of wooden boat-building skills. Admission to the museum is free and is a great learning experience for young and old alike. For those of you looking for an adventure or just a leisure day on the water, Coastal Kayak Outfitters is located directly beside the Watercraft Center on Front Street. They are the exclusive dealer for Necky Kayaks on the North Carolina coast and offer rentals, guided tours, all of the necessary paddling gear and personal instruction. These are just a few of the wonderful attractions in our area. There is plenty to do and see in Carteret County, so ya'll come see us now...ya' hear?
