- Horseshoe Curve, a National Historic Landmark that is both entertaining and educational. It is one of the few places in North America where the public can view a working railroad up close. Displays and exhibits detail this engineering marvel opened by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1854.
- Railroaders Memorial Museum, founded as a tribute to railroaders everywhere. The Railroaders Call Board is planned to be the world's largest database of railroaders and their work histories. At the museum guests can search and even enter their family members information. Also offers a feature film entitled Altoona at Work - an Era of Steam
